Information is the mission of testing, but practical approaches to getting that information – and what to do with it – are often lost in marketing hype and aspirational strategies. Through this round table discussion, we’ll cut through the noise and get to what has and hasn’t worked in the real world of test automation, product management, assessing quality, and managing risk in software testing.
Keith Klain is the Executive Director, Head of Software Quality Management for Tekmark Global Solutions, a full service telecoms and technology consultancy provider. For the last 20 years Keith has built software quality management and testing teams for global financial services and IT consulting firms in the US, UK, and Asia Pacific. He was the Executive Vice President of the Association for Software Testing and the recipient of the 2013 Software Test Professionals Luminary award.
Ashley is a Product Quality Architect at Blackboard, Inc, a leading provider of educational technology, where she helps establish and drive testing practices throughout the organization. She’s an international speaker that has shared her experiences at industry events including Selenium Conference, Software Test Professionals Conference, and soon at TISQA, SauceCon and Better Software Conference/DevOps West. She also enjoys sharing her experiences through writing as a guest blogger for SauceLabs. A proponent of open source, Ashley believes in giving back to the software community and serves as a member of the Selenium Project’s Steering Committee and co-chair of the Selenium Conference, with a focus and passion for diversity and inclusion throughout the industry.
Clint Sprauve is the Product Marketing Director for Mobile at Sauce Labs. Previously he was the senior product marketing manager for Hewlett-Packard Enterprise functional testing. He was also the director of product strategy for the Borland Solutions Division of Micro Focus, where he created Borland’s mobile strategy for functional test automation.
Paul Merrill is Principle Software Engineer in Test and Founder of Beaufort Fairmont Automated Testing Services. His more than 17 years of experience as software engineer, tester, manager, consultant and project manager have shaped his views on software development. Paul works with clients every day to accelerate testing, reduce risk, and increase the efficacy of testing processes. An entrepreneur, tester, software engineer, and speaker, Paul has a unique perspective on launching and maintaining quality products. Paul speaks regularly at major testing conferences and monthly webinars. He hosts Reflection as a Service, a podcast about software development and entrepreneurship.
