Making the Transition from Tester to Test Leader at Quality Jam
I had the fortunate opportunity to introduce Keith Klain as a keynote speaker at Quality Jam 2016. Keith is one of my favorite thought leaders in the software testing space and it was inspirational to hear him share his secrets on how to transition from tester to test leader. Keith has been in software testing for 20+ years in enterprise technology, primarily financial services, he worked at UBS, Barclays Citigroup, just to name a few. In this session at Quality Jam he shared a lot of great tips and tricks on how to increase the value of yourself and your testing organization at your company and how to make the transition from tester to test leader.
Tester’s don’t have a seat at the table, and testers who think they have a seat arn’t at the right table — the money spending table. One of the main questions Keith answers in this session is why this is so hard for testers and what they need to do in order to get a seat at the able.
Keith’s Presentation was Split into Two Sections
Why arn’t there more people in testing with leadership positions
Three takeaways to improve your value at your organization
Focus on the Business
Rethink Test Management
Know Your Mission
