QASymphony named the “Best Place to Work” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle
I am very excited to let you know that QASymphony has been named one of the Best Places to Work by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for the third year in a row. This year, we were ranked #4 in the medium company category.
This award is a great source of pride for our employees. We all know QASymphony is a great place to work. So, it’s nice to see that recognition from the Atlanta business community.
People often ask me, what makes QASymphony a “Best Place to Work”? Well, here are some of the initiatives we’ve implemented in our company to create a great professional experience for our employees.
Tour of Duty: Adapted from the book, The Alliance: Managing Talent in the Networked Age, employees meet individually with the me and determine a “tour of duty” that will help expand their skills and experience. The tour of duty goes above and beyond employees’ day-to-day responsibilities. During the meeting, goals are written down, a timeline is established and both sides agree on desired outcomes. It is designed to help employees learn and grow into stronger professionals. The program has been very successful. We have had several high value employees interested in making career changes transition into different roles, rather than having to leave the company.
Culture Lunches: Every other Friday, we have a catered “culture lunch” where a team member shares their knowledge and expertise on a given topic with the entire company. Previous culture lunches have featured topics such as car shopping, coffee brewing methods, the history of soccer in Atlanta and virtual reality gaming. It’s a fun way for us to learn more about our colleagues and their passions.
Health and Wellness: QASymphony strives to take care of our employees. We provide a great healthcare plan, covering 100% of plan premiums. In 2017, we established a Flexible Savings Account option for all employees. We also have a gym in our building and cover the monthly cost for every employee who wants to join.
Giving Back: QASymphony is committed to the community. Last year we joined Pledge 1%, which commits 1% of employee time, product and equity to support non-profits. We take time to volunteer for local organizations like Stop Hunger Now, Ronald McDonald House Charities, MADD, Year Up Greater Atlanta and Per Scholas.
Monthly Company Outings: We work hard and play hard. We get together every month to celebrate our team accomplishments, have some fun and build relationships. Past outings have been to a Braves game, Top Golf, Atlanta Motor Speedway and the Painted Pin.
Monthly Performance and Leadership Updates: In effort to create a transparent workplace, the executive team gives a company-wide update every month over breakfast, covering the performance across each team and highlighting the strategic goals.
Core Values: It is critical todefine your core values and make them a part of everything you do. QASymphony’s core values are:
Together We Are Better
No Excuses. You Own It.
Always Be Innovating
Work Hard. Work Smart. Be Agile.
Create Raving Fans
Make a Difference
I want to congratulate all of the other “Best Places” finalists from this year. It is great to be part of such a vibrant business community in Atlanta. I also want to thank all of the QASymphony employees. To me, you are truly what makes QASymphony the best place to work in Atlanta.
