It has been a busy October for QASymphony. We had two big conferences back-to-back – STARWEST 2016 and Atlassian Summit. Our company is located in Atlanta, so several of us spent two weeks on the west coast. We finally adjusted to Pacific Standard Time just when it was time to head back to the East Coast.
Our first stop on the West Coast tour was in Anaheim for STARWEST at the Disneyland Hotel. It’s always fun to visit Disney, even for a business trip. The STARWEST conference was excellent as usual. We sponsor many of the TechWell events and they always deliver.
At STARWEST 2016, we were lucky to have two speaking slots. Kevin Dunne, our VP of Strategy and Business Development spoke about Test First Methodologies – BDD, TDD and ATDD. His session was packed. Standing room only! I guess a lot of people are interested in this topic. You can view his slides from the presentation below:
Additionally, Jonathan Alexander, our CTO, spoke about data and analytics related to testing. It was a very interesting session that showed how leading testing teams are leveraging data to move faster, improve quality and reduce risk. You can see Jonathan’s slides below.
In addition to the sessions, QASymphony had a great booth presence in the Expo Hall. We met with over 200 people during the conference. It was very busy. We found that a lot of the attendees are looking for new and better software testing tools to help improve their workflow. Hopefully, some of our new friends from STARWEST will become QASymphony customers very soon.
One of our favorite parts of the trip was connecting with Janna Loeffler, our customer from Disney. Janna gave an outstanding presentation about how Disney’s approach to software testing. Her session was so full they had to turn people away at the door.
