Exciting Exploratory Testing Upgrades in December QASymphony Releases

QASymphony is excited to announce major enhancements to the qTest and qTest eXplorer product families. With the introduction of a browser based and mobile eXplorer products, we are now bringing the recording power of eXplorer to Web testing on any Desktop OS (Mac, Linux, Windows) as well as to mobile app testing on iOS and Android. Additionally, qTest now provides a session manager which makes our tool the first in the industry to provide support for tracking the freestyle testing sessions used in exploratory, unscripted, and ad hoc testing.

These new features are part of our Enterprise package, which is also what is available to trial users. These features are currently only available On-Demand, and will be available on Premise in early Q1 2015. Web eXplorer:

Web eXplorer is a new browser based plugin that brings the recording power of eXplorer to Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. With this new plugin, you can now automatically document Web Testing on Mac and Linux machines, with the recordings being stored centrally in the Session Manager of qTest. The plugin is available to qTest Enterprise customers within the Download section of qTest. Mobile eXplorer:

Mobile eXplorer is a new SDK available for packaging into you mobile application. With this new SDK, you can now automatically document mobile testing within your Android and iOS applications, with the recordings being stored centrally in the Session Manager of qTest. The SDK is available to qTest Enterprise customers within the Download section of qTest. Session Manager (qTest Module):

Session Manager is a new module within qTest that manages the progress of freestyle exploratory or ad hoc testing sessions. The session manager provides greater oversight into the real-time test planning and design that occurs in freestyle exploratory testing, allowing greater insight into team activities. Now, managers can view the recordings captured by the desktop, web, and mobile eXplorer centrally within qTest, allowing for greater oversight and ability to react to any audits.
