2016 has been an amazing year for QASymphony. We’ve grown our team, brought on a lot of great new customers and had a lot of fun along the way. So, here are my top 16 moments from the year. Looking forward to many more good times to come in 2017.
16) What Testing Will Hold in 2016 Webinar
Our first webinar of 2016 ended up being a huge hit. We had over 3500 people register to hear Keith Klain’s predictions for the year ahead. We actually had to buy a new webinar software to accommodate the extra large audience. Keith will be back again in January for his predictions for 2017. Click here to register.
15) Rise Up and Run 5K
We had a great turnout for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving 5K run at the Georgia Dome. We even got snazzy QASymphony running shirts to promote our brand. Not to brag, but I finished 1st in our company with a time of 22:00, beating out all the 20-somethings. Score one for the over-40 crowd!
14) qTest Insights Release
qTest Insights was a big release for our company. It is by far the best reporting tool on the marketing for software testing and has allowed us to leapfrog the competition.
13) $5 million Series B
We got off to a fast start in 2016 closing a $5 million Series B round of funding. This was very exciting for our company. Even more exciting when we were featured in TechCrunch.
12) Stop Hunger Now
In 2016 we joined the Pledge 1% movement. As part of our commitment, we pledge 1% of our time to giving back. One of our favorite philanthropy events of the year was packaging up 10,000 bags of food that was sent to help feed hungry children in Zimbabwe. It always feels good to do good. You can learn more about Stop Hunger Now here.
11) The QASymphony Qual-T Awards
Every year at QASymphony, we give out the “Qual-T” awards. “Qual-T” stands for “Quality Talent”. It is great to recognize the top performers in our company who embody our core values.
10) Atlassian Summit
The Atlassian Summit this year was amazing for QASymphony. We talked with hundreds of people about our solutions that integrate with JIRA. And our VP of Strategy, Kevin Dunne gave a standing room only presentation about quality metrics. JIRA and our qTest solutions are definitely better together.
Our “Culture Club” puts together great events for the company every months. One of the highlights this year was the great chili cookoff. There were so many good chilis in the competition. The winner was the Buffalo Chicken Chili by Ali Huffstetler.
At QASymphony, we go all out for Halloween. This year featured some great (and not so-great) costumes. But, it was a fun time for all.
5) STARWEST and Disneyland
In October we attended the Star West conference in Anaheim at the Disneyland Hotel. One of our favorite customers from Disney took us to the California Adventure Park where we rode the “California Screamin’” roller coaster. It was pretty intense as you can tell by the looks on our faces.
4) Hitting the $5 Million Mark
This year we hit a big milestone in August 2016 – $5 million in annualized revenue. To celebrate, everyone on the team got this commemorative bottle of champagne.
3) Atlanta Tech Edge
It’s not every day you get to be on television. So it was really thrilling to be interviewed on NBC’s Atlanta Tech Edge with Titania Jordan. It made my Mom very proud.
2) Awards, Awards and More Awards!
We won a lot of awards in 2016. It’s a true testament to our products and people. Here are some of the great trophies we added to our case: Entrepreneur 360, Red Herring North American Top 100 Winner, Red Herring Global Top 100 Winner, Bronze Stevie Award for Innovation, Technology Association of Georgia Top 40 Most Innovative Companies.
